
On Market Street you will find TG Davies, the butchers, Newport Pharmacy and Spar, a convenience store, which is open from 8am to 10pm every day even Christmas Day, and Elements, which sells lovely clothes including brands such as Joules, Seasalt, etc.
Below the main road on Long Street there is Newport Post Office with a cashpoint. Further down the road is the Tourist Information Centre open Monday to Saturday 10am-1pm. The Tourist Information Centre is run by wonderful volunteers and has information on a range of activities and sites to visit.
On East Street you will find Newport Shellfish Co., open in peak seasons on Wednesday to Saturday 9am-midday (except when Matt’s out fishing!), Siop Havards, a community run hardware shop, and further down opposite the Golden Lion you will find Washday, the launderette.
Tides Kitchen & Wine Bar deli counter sells delicious, made on the premises, crusty bread and sourdough, pastries, quiches and cakes as well as a range of fresh fish and seafood. Wholefoods of Newport also has a wonderful deli counter serving a great range of cheeses, including a number of local cheeses, cold meats, antipasti and olives as well as heavenly bread and sourdough from local bakery, Crwst.
The Monday Market, held every Monday from 9am to 1pm in Market Street (weather dependent), has stalls showcasing local producers, including Caws Cenarth, Carn Edward Meats and Dolwerdd Sheeps Cheese. When it’s nice weather the cafes spill out onto the road and there is often live music. When it’s wet and windy, it might just be die hard Nathan with his organic veg.


Angel House, next to the Post Office, is a gift shop and pottery studio. Further down Long Street, Fynnon sells the most beautiful homeware and gifts and has recently been named one of House & Garden's 50 best independent shops. On East Street, Codi Crafted By Hand is a retail space selling beautiful hand made pieces, dedicated to raising the profile of the makers who create the items found in the shop.
On the other side of East Street, Brown's Books, is a lovely independent bookshop above Pwnc. Next door the Carningli Centre sells antiques, railwayana and has a second hand book section and, further down, The Collective, run by and for local artists & craftspeople, sells ceramics, jewellery, paintings, photography, sculptures, textiles, woodcrafts, handmade furniture and more. On Bridge Street, you will find The Gallery Yr Oriel Newport, an art gallery showcasing well known and established local and Welsh artists, including painters, sculptors, ceramicists and gold/silver smiths.
Parking
Limited one hour free parking on Market Street. Long Street car park – charges between March and October. Minimum charge £1. Parrog car park is free all year round.
Supermarkets
There is a Coop in Fishguard (7 miles away) and a Tesco and Aldi in Cardigan (10 miles away). Haverfordwest (15 miles away) has a Tesco Extra, Lidl and Morrisons. Tesco and Morrisons deliver to Polly's Barn.
