    Accommodation

Polly’s Barn lies up a short off road track half way up Carn Ingli, or Angel Mountain, which rises above the coastal village of Newport in North Pembrokeshire. The property is about a mile outside the village and is a converted 200 year old stable. It consists of one main large living and dining space with separate stylish bathroom and bedroom, perfectly designed for couples seeking a perfect country getaway.

The property boasts underfloor heating throughout. Full of original character, the living area features exposed beams and a cosy log burner, as well as 2 large, comfy sofas, board games, an internet-connected TV and bi-folding doors on each side of the living room – to the front facing downhill with a great view of the sea and to the rear looking up the fields and towards the ancient hill fort at Carn Ffoi.

The stylish, fully-fitted kitchen has an induction hob and electric oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, cafetière and DAB radio. There’s also a dining table and chairs to eat at and a full range of utensils, crockery and cooking equipment.

Just off the living and kitchen area, through saloon style doors there’s a gorgeous bathroom with fully tiled walk-in wet room-style shower, a stand alone stone basin, toilet and chrome upright towel rack-radiator. All towels are provided.

A separate door off the kitchen space opens in to the sumptuous bedroom where you’ll find the super comfy super king sized bed with feather duvet and pillow, guaranteed to give you the best night’s sleep you’ve had in a long time. The bed is flanked by bedside chest-of-drawer tables, lamps, a well-stocked bookcase and plenty of wardrobe and hanging space.

Outside, to the back of the barn, relax and eat al fresco at the table and chairs on the south-facing sun terrace – there’s plenty of space and two reclining sun loungers for when the weather’s good enough for sunbathing; and if it’s not, snuggle up with one of the Welsh blankets or a sheepskin. The rear terrace gets sun from sunrise to late afternoon, after which take your drinks to the front terrace to watch the sun setting over the Irish Sea for the last few hours of sun as it goes down to the west. Guest have the use of the barbecue/firepit to either cook on or enjoy an outside log fire and a plant room holds the boiler, storage space for muddy boots, a place for wet coats to dry and a washing machine. Bikes and other equipment can be kept to the front of the barn or if the weather’s bad we can arrange to store them in our other garage-style barn.

    Location and access

As the property is in a rural, moorland location, access is up an off-road track, just off the Mountain West road. There are various options for access and parking depending on the suitability of the guests' car and confidence in driving off the tarmac road. There is space on the grass either side of the bottom of the track which can be used for parking and then access to the barn is a short 30 second walk up the track. Alternatively, guests can drive up the track and park in the designated parking space at the front of our house. Further parking can be had through a double gate from the track to a gravelled parking area in front of the barn. This access involves a tight turn and steep rise so we ask guests to assess whether their car is suitable before attempting this access, which is at their own risk.

The barn is next to our house, separated by a beautiful ancient Sycamore tree, giving you the benefit of us being on hand to answer any questions and provide information on the local area and activities. However, the barn has its own access and, despite it being next to our house, it offers complete seclusion and we respect guests' privacy if you prefer not to have any contact.

You’ll have the whole property to yourself as well as sole use of the front and rear terraces and access to the beautiful meadows front and back.

    Our animals and wildlife

We have two Welsh border collie dogs and two ponies who will occasionally come to the fence close to the barn. The barn is in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and adjacent to common ground on which sheep, cattle and horses roam freely and are frequent visitors up our track and the green lane behind the barn. You might also be lucky enough to see snakes, slow worms, lizards, a wealth of birds including red kites, buzzards and woodpeckers and all of Pembrokeshire’s mammalian wildlife around the barn.

    WiFi and mobile phone signal

Please note mobile phone network coverage can be patchy. The barn is fully covered by WiFi but sometimes this can be affected by wet and windy weather!
